"This album is about evolution," says Accel, one of the vocalists and lyricists of The Hightails. "We grew up on Tupac, Zapp & Roger, Nate Dogg, Warren G, and DJ Quik just as much as Boyz II Men and New Edition. The Westside Party is our way of bridging those worlds. It's still R&B, but it rides different."

 

Executive produced by I.D. Swagger, the album features gritty, yet smooth production from the beatmaker that is steeped in G-funk tradition. Tracks like “Dreams Come True,” “Strobe Lights,” "Bounc'N'Dip," and the breakout single “Westside Party” pulse with heavy basslines, talkbox melodies, and raw honesty.
